Post by Tanngniostr »

Hey everyone :)

Does anybody know of a stick insect model that there is a CP or diagrams of? My girlfriend is very fond of stick inselcs so if a model exists I'd love to fold it for her :) Thanks in advance!

The www.origamidatabase.com says that there are two of such models.

One by Manuel Sirgo and the diagram can be found at: Origami Tanteidan Convention No.10 Page 243

The other one is by Robert Bradburne and the diagram at: BOS Magazine 258 October 2009

Manuel Sirgo has several stick insects designs, of which most are diagrammed in his books "Papiroinsectos y otros origamis exóticos" and "Imaginando en papel", both also available in English (and significantly easier to get and cheaper than Tantaidan #10).
Robert J. Lang's Flying Walking Stick is rather complex, at least for me.
Generally, I recommend http://www.giladorigami.com for references about specific models and where they are diagrammed.

I had found Sirgo's model sometime ago, but I couldn't find a cp or foldong instruction anywhere. Thanks all so much for pointing me im the right direction, esp HankSimon. I didn't think there was a diagrammed version of a stick insect (I've looked for that a while ago), so thank you so much for pointing me to one!

"Succed"...
I read that as "sucked" initially XD
You did mean "succeed," right?
Good luck ;)
