Who created and what's the name of this modular model?

A friend taught me how to fold this model. Unfortunately my friend didn't know who created it and believes it's named Mandala Star, but isn't sure. Can you please tell me who created the model and what is its name? It's folded from six identical units. Sorry for showing it with patterned paper; I wasn't expecting I'd need to ask when I was folding it.
