Origami Database - New Look
Hi all,
The Origami Database http://www.origamidatabase.com has a new look.
Let me know what you think!
Dennis
P.S. Some pages aren't quite ready yet , but I'm getting there!

looks good. a bright, blue color scheme is always a safe choice.
Btw. is this database just a collection of published diagrams and where to find them, or are people who create diagrams also able to upload them?
I've seen http://dev.origami.com/diagram.cfm already, but it seems to me, that there is no way for creators to upload their creations there. also a functionality for rating and commenting would be nice.

Thanks! Glad you like it!
It is (for the moment) only a database of where to find diagrams. I have considered allowing uploading diagrams but the combination of the webspace being donated to me (rather than me owning it) and the fact that the Origami archive accepts diagrams put me off.
If I can persuade my webspace owner (and the archives owner), I may allow uploads. However at the moment the place to go is http://origami.kvi.nl/ They DO accept diagrams, but you'll probably have to email the maintainer!

Hi,
I've been fairly busy recently, but now I've managed to get some time and start hitting some of the problems.
A number of the problems were caused by
a) Updating how the database accessed the book data and
b) The server not liking the file being updated externally! I shoudl be able to avoid that for longer stretches now.
The data entry should be correct.
The website info looks better.
And diagram upload will be coming soon! A couple of my own diagrams are there already.

Ok just been doing some playing on the Origami Database.
Love the current set up - but is it possible to add the model number to the download file please?
I have started to scan all of my own books- so that I don't need to take them traveling by using "my library" I use a local dbase to see all the contents data. I can also link to the scanned files.
If I have an internet connection, I can also link to the cover scans so they show up - but would like to do the same with the photos on the database- but need the model id's.
Also it means I could apply the same number to my images and upload even more to the dbase
Oh Dennis, my email has changed to @gmail.com instead of @yahoo.com.au
