Looking for: Insects

Post by stevieboy1 »

Hi all im new here and have had lots of spair time on my hands of late and when i was younger i used to love origami so i thought id try my hand at it again,

Anyways I just love all the realistic paper folded insects that can be made an was wondering if anyone knows were there are some good diagrams for a good looking praying mantis, spider, and just about any other bug that i could sink my teeth in to!

Thanks and hope i posted this in the right section

kind regards
Steve.

Welcome. There are plenty of bugs at http://dev.origami.com/diagram.cfm
Whenever I do complex Origami I get this sinking feeling.

Cool thanks for that link ;-) What would be a good quilt paper to use and what sort of size would work best for the more complex desighns? Tryed ordinary origami paper but seemt to thick and hard to fold the smaller bits.

thanks again kind regards

Normal 10 inch origami paper is fine for almost everything on that site.
Also, I don't know how skilled with CPs you are, but there are some challenging ones at langorigami.com

Here's a nice snail for you. The instructions are in hebrew, I think, but the diagrams should be clear enough. http://kennguyen.net/diagrams/shiridaniel_snail.pdf
