Have you folded a dolphin recently?

Looking for a specific model? Here's the place to start.

Have you folded a dolphin recently?

Post by pnpurdue »

The thought of folding a dolphin struck me last night after I was asked whether or not I knew how to make an origami dolphin. That totally blew me away, I've never really thought about an origami dolphin before! Now I can't thinking about anything else other than "origami dolphins." Is there an origami dolphin that captures the essence of a dolphin? What do you suggest? Which dolphins rank supreme? :P

The only dolphin model that I'm familliar with is Montroll's out of Origami Sea Life. I guess it's good as far as a dolphin model goes, but I really have no others to compare it to.

is there a 3D dolphin? Like Satoshi's Blue Whale. If not maybe this ought to be an origami challenge  ?

I made that today, but i must say I don't like too much. It lacks details and hollows on the underside. It is nice from that view. Leong Chen Chit has a wonder Bottle-nose Dolphin! Not sure if it's 3D all around or not.

It is diagrammed in Origami USA Convention 2003. Sadly I cannot afford it. haha
