Hi all I so want to make this long necked giraffe beetle (ground beetle) but I cant find it.
I came across the pics and CP for this long necked bug on flicker a while ago after following a link from somewere to someone on flicker who had designed it and posted pics and the cp for it on there. But I cant remember who it was or were the link was or even the corect name of the bug.
Now that im starting out with cps Id love to be able to fold it if it can be found. CAN ANYONE HELP? Have you ever seen it?
Kind regards
Steve

I've done a quick search on flickr for "origami long necked seed bug" and "giraffe beetle origami" but all i found was Robert Lang's long necked seed bug from origami insects and their kin.
But I do know of a model by Derek McGann: http://www.derek.mcgann.com/origami/mymodels.htm
Scroll down to find the long necked seed bg and follow the link for the base crease pattern.
Hope this helps.

Ive been thinking about it and im leaning towords it wasnt on flicker but on this guys site with many of his other models.
All i can remember is he was a youg guy who had a link from an origami site that when to his with his models etc. I cant even remember the exact name of the bug. All I know m sirgo ade a model of it (Trachelophorus jirafa)
http://design.origami.free.fr/Sirgo/Ins ... iraffa.htm
it was this guys own version of what ever ths beetle is.
I have been serching the net for it all day with no luck. In the guys pics he had instructions and the cp and photos of his finished model in white paper i think. So if anyone has come across it please let me know.
Kind regards

I've done a search too but the only model I came across was by M Sirgo.
I did find out what beetle it is, it's a Giraffe Weevil.

wow, that crease pattern is very similar to Andres Sanchez's plante carnivore. Hopefully it makes better use of those long flaps!
