Looking for: 3D Origami

Post by topquark »

My mother is crazy about "3d" origami. For those not familiar with the term, this is different from the sonobe cubes and other geometric origami. These involve putting small folded pieces of paper together to create actual figures, like animals. Does anyone here know where my mom can find diagrams for these?

Yep. It's more commonly referred to as Golden Venture units, at least among the origami community:

'Jewellia7777' on youtube has a lot of very easy to follow videos on making 3d origami characters. She explains the process very well, and also has a very good video on constructing the base.

Some good books to buy are: '3d Origami' 'More 3d Origami' and 'More and More 3d Origami' They have lots of step by step instructios to create simple or complex models.

Does anyone know where I can aquire some 3d origami kits (preferably korean) that will ship to the UK for a low price? I have seen a lot of kits on ebay, but they all come from the US. Can anyone help me?

Thanks
