Satoshi Kamiya's Hermit Crab

Post by BrooksHalten »

I have searched everywhere for the diagrams, but could not find anything. I know, "they are in the JOAS 2007 book", but I didn't know of the special edition books until just recently. Now, it seems that if I missed it, there is nothing I can do. How unjust! PLEASE, if there is any way anyone knows where I can get the book/diagrams, please speak up!

Well I am not sure about purchasing one. However, there is a crease pattern on the internet for it if you don't mind them.

You could try contacting JOAS and seeing if you can get a JOAS supporting membership for 2007. If they do allow it, it will run you about $100. My friend did that in the past for Hojyo's Icarus diagrams.

Ouch, $100 for just that sounds a bit steep for me, but I'll probably do that if I fail at the CP. Looks like the only real challenge of the cp is forming that shell.

Well, the $100 includes the Tanteidan magazine subscription for the year. (That's about $50). The other ~$50 is for supporting membership; the diagram is not the purpose of the membership. Supporting the JOAS is. The diagram is a special exclusive gift to members. So, if you had the 2007 Tanteidan Magazine subscription, you would only need to pay another ~$50.

I was looking here because I was stuck on step 169, the part where the body gets crimped inside the shell. The diagrams are pretty unclear.
