I don't know this specific fold, but on p. 46 & 47 of Paper Folding for Beginners by William D. Murray & Francis J. Rigney, there is model called The Secret Envelope. (The book is available from used book sellers).
See the Puzzle Purse:

I am not an expert with Fuse, but I imagine that she has created a similar pattern. I think it is a common locking mechanism.

The Puzzle Purse link that I provided is mostly the same as in the book I referenced - no reason to buy the book for that one fold.
However, I believe that Fuse has a similar fold, but I'm not a Fuse expert.
Try folding the Puzzle Purse and see if you get the same effect. If you do, please post pictures.

Hm...I don't think it's the same fold (the one hkdsass been looking for and the link). I already did the one in the link, but it's quite different with the picture provided. Let me search more on the net and I'll post once I get it.

Beautiful ! they look great, and I like the choice of paper.
You'll have to teach us how to do it .
Any ideas for additional accents and modifications ?
Thanks,
Hank Simon

Hi. First post here, I would really like to know how you managed to do those. Could you at least give me a few hints on how it's different from the simple puzzle purse linked above? Thanks!

Thanks a lot for the quick and detailed reply!
However, I'm having trouble understanding what happens in the second and third photo.
hkdsass wrote:only fold two sides in like so:

Could you (or anyone else, if you do understand

) please elaborate a bit?
Cheers

Terrific reverse engineering (or original design ?).
I agree that we need a few more steps between Photo 2 and Photo 3.
Thanks for posting and sharing your hard effort.
