or simply use the search function to search

for "beginner" or the like.

As I tell everyone, try www.origami.com , theres lots of stuff on there to start with.
(By the way, this is an international forum, so (if you can... depends what your first language is) try your best to write clearly)

Yea, there's plenty of threads that discuss different folding materials, like the sticky at the top of the general forums. Anyway, what I do is:
1) When it's my first attempt, I use japanese foil or kami.
2) If that's no good, then I bump up the size of my paper till it works.
3) Once I get proficient at folding a particular model I make some tissue foil, which works great for complex models, even at relatively small paper sizes.
But again, do a search first, and get other people's opinions.
