welcome to the forum. Image

we surely had this a couple of times, so you could go there:
viewtopic.php?t=590&highlight=beginner
or simply use the search function to search
search.php
for "beginner" or the like.

As I tell everyone, try www.origami.com , theres lots of stuff on there to start with.

(By the way, this is an international forum, so (if you can... depends what your first language is) try your best to write clearly)

Welcome!

Another great way of finding diagrams is just searching for "origami" followed by whatever the object is that you wish to fold.

but as cupcake said, origami.com is excellent, it is where I first began to discover the true depth of origami :D

I hope we are able to help you out

If you can't fold it, try a bazooka.

Yea, there's plenty of threads that discuss different folding materials, like the sticky at the top of the general forums. Anyway, what I do is:
1) When it's my first attempt, I use japanese foil or kami.
2) If that's no good, then I bump up the size of my paper till it works.
3) Once I get proficient at folding a particular model I make some tissue foil, which works great for complex models, even at relatively small paper sizes.
But again, do a search first, and get other people's opinions.

well, we even have a sticky post in the general section about the paper-question:
viewtopic.php?t=49

and a quick search came up with this two topics:

viewtopic.php?t=2829&highlight=paper&si ... 0205298d4f
viewtopic.php?t=2848&highlight=paper&si ... 0205298d4f

And the long discussion on the "what have you folded lately?" topic about copy paper :)

I usually fold my first models with copy paper :P since its abundant and inexpensive, but can be a real pain to fold subjects like insects
