Hello everyone! I'm new on this forum... gosh, I couldn't discribe my happiness when I found this place! I mean, I love Origami with my life, but... I'm not what you can call "good enough" on it. All the origamis I made are kind of... Too "plane". I don't know if you get my point, just that there's a huge difference from a Tsuru to a Phoenix, of something like that. I wanted to practice (some voluntary teachers would be great!...Kidding) so I checked the Diagram section. Still, I couldn't understand at all =/ Isn't there a place where you can learn how to make those cool-like Origamis, but on a "step-by-step" way? I tried everything... Tried to download the diagrams, watching videos on youtube, and all I could make by far was a stupid paper dragon (cute, but ordinary...) Can someone help me? How much time does it take to get better on those harder folds? Thanks for your attencion!
P.S : I apologize for my grammar, I'm brazilian ^^"
Can someone... Help me here?

hi,
how's Brazil those days?
well, you can start with easy diagrams, the best place to find them is
http://dev.origami.com/diagram.cfm
you can display the simple models with the scroll bar
try perry bailey's models (coot, odd duck), finishing with the squirrell (probably the best origami model I've ever seen, because its combination on simplicity and result).
but patience
this thing takes a while an MANY mistakes and wrapped pieces of paper
I've been on this for 4 years and now I can fold some complex models (you can check them on my blog). Don't be shy for ask for help, even on simple models, nobody born folding (well maybe except artur biernacki...
)
see you around and luck.

Try Origami Club. It's a Japanese site with nothing but cute, simple models and easy to follow diagrams. There's also an English version available by clicking the flags of the English-speaking countries at the top
