Hello,
I have been reading these forums for a while and decided to make an account and maybe join the community. Are there any folders in Maryland? It would be great if there was a group or something there to help me get better. Thanks!

According to Origami USA site on local groups, there is one in Baltimore.

I am pretty sure there is another group that meets at the University, or there used to be.

I know Montroll goes to one somewhere in Baltimore area.

I live in Maryland and I once checked out that group. Its a very small group and they spend the day folding simple-intermediate models. If you are looking for other origamists to help you get better I am not so sure they can help, but if you just want to share your passion then it should be great (they are very friendly too).

I don't know of any other groups in Baltimore, I did not really do any research though so who knows. As for getting better, I doubt I could help you, you can check my flickr to see how good I am I guess. Good luck in your search Derina.

i go to one in gaithersburg at the main street cafe every few saturdays from 2:00-about 5:30

GWB what is that group like? Can you give me any info on how the meetings go or if there are experienced folders involved? I have no idea what an origami meet up would be like. Thanks!

SY CHEN usually comes and even more amazingly sometimes even John Montroll! everybody just comes together and folds. we show each other new designs and teach our favorite models and stuff. it is quite informal. it was organized by jim weir. there are some kids (including me) and plenty of nice people who wwill teach you and help you and listen.

I live in Olney Maryland and have 2 friends that make origami there.

Oh wow, another club/meet up in Baltimore. It sounds fun, but sadly I like in pikesville, it is over an hour drive + toll roads. Maybe one time I might try to come up though, but I doubt it at least for a while. Also derina I never got a pm from you.
