Re: Monthly pokemon challenges
You used an imaginable base with (as opposed to one that uses a grid and takes an hour to collapse from nothing) a great photograph and a clever colour change! What paper did you use?

Re: Monthly pokemon challenges
Hey,
This may be a bit late to ask given that the challenge started 3 weeks ago, but wouldn't it be more interesting to have more than 1 pokemon per challenge? Say, a choice between 3 random pokemons (or voted, I don't know). It just seems to me that 1 month is pretty long for a single subject (it'll take more than 40 years to go through all pokemons at this rate!)

Re: Monthly pokemon challenges
thanks harpseal! The paper is just 35x35cm kami which is why there's a small rip between the lower pair of arms.
I agree with Sunburst. Wouldn't it be better if the topic was broader, such as "fire starter pokemon" or "ice type"?

Re: Monthly pokemon challenges
wow...great creations, all of you! i can't even choose my favorite!
I think mr harpseal will have a tough time judging this one...
they are all unique approaches to making it, and none of them alike.
i like GWB origami's approach because of its simplicity, but its really cool at the same time...
the other two are also nice. i will need to try these crease patterns, soon (i got kami to burn)

Re: Monthly pokemon challenges
There will be no more recieved entries after the 29th if the judging is late.I agree about the range of pokemon as just having one was only ever meant to be to be to see if anyone is interested in competing. I will take suggestions for pokemon for March by PM. There will be no particular judging as far as ideas are concerned and unless there is a serious reason whic is why i am hoping lots of people will ask as i will take whichever idea occurs most.

Re: Monthly pokemon challenges
i would think a reuniclus would be a great but hard subject. i have tried to design a reuniclus with varying levels of success.

Re: Monthly pokemon challenges
I see what you mean about challenging! I could imagine a reasonable finished one and if i were to announce that as a competition, i would do it and it's whole evolution chain, as people obviously want more than one option. Please send lots more suggestions as i have only had two and i need more, or i will just choose something myself.
5 days anymore entries? You have just enough time if you are quick.

Re: Monthly pokemon challenges
I would suggest doing the old Pokemon from the Kanto and Johto regions specifically. All the other Pokemon have too much detail and aren't as iconic. More people know the old ones.
Re: Monthly pokemon challenges
I know, although it's hard finding old ones that haven't been done yet, especially groups of them.

Re: Monthly pokemon challenges
In the area that I said (Kanto + Johto), there are 251 pokemon. In the pokemon gallery thread I doubt there are 50 models shown in there. Plus if you wanted original models you would be getting each person to fold an original model instead of all making the same model.
