Re: Works of Baltorigamist
Thanks, but you would not believe how much sinking and unsinking goes on in the thorax and abdomen. In the abdomen alone, there are 3 closed sinks, 3 open unsinks, 2 open sinks, and 2 spread-sinks. X_x

Re: Works of Baltorigamist
I've been developing it for literally almost two years. It looks absolutely nothing like my first attempt at a stag beetle, yet I haven't changed the base at all.

cool! two whole years! the longest i've ever taken to design something is a week. you can tell you worked very hard on it.

Re: Works of Baltorigamist
I just make a new revision every time I think of a way to improve something. But yeah, my designs take about a week on average.

Re: Works of Baltorigamist
usually my models have about 3 or 4 versions. the first one is usually made out of printer then the final is foil or kami or unyru.

Re: Works of Baltorigamist
Same here. I use copy paper for just about everything but the final version, and then I use tracing paper for the final. The chimera I'm working on gets really thick with copy paper, but it's still foldable. (It would be done if I could figure out the proportions of the graft I need to add to the head, but the math eludes me.)

Here's an older design of mine that I just got around to refolding last night: my Four-Legged Crane With A Crane With A Crane On Its Back On Its Back.

Re: Baltorigamist
Thanks for the feedback--if I come to Centerfold this year I'll teach the Dragon.
All I really changed on the dragon is the shaping of the head and wings, not really anything else.
And yes, the 4LCWACWACOIBOIB is from a single sheet. It's just a bird base, but I'm not gonna go too much into the details. It's pretty much just sinking and unsinking for about an hour straight, though, so not very fun to fold.

A lily I designed.
Lily v1.0 by Baltorigamist, on Flickr
Still working on the Metagross, but progress has slowed. I think I'll double the width of the graft I use for the face....
