Re: ginshun
is it a goliath bird-eating tarantula? if so the tarantula definitely. ( was that a rhetorical question?)

Tarantula. By the way you posts this in a different topic such as general origami talk
Origami is like food. You can love it and be obese. Or you can hate it and be and be a"cute". Or you can be a fail and your just that. A fail. Flickr : http://www.flickr.com/photos/76647015@N08/?saved=1

Re: ginshun
Actually, this is technically a gallery since they're showing off models they've folded.
I would ask that you change the format (ie, the way you present the models), though.

Re: ginshun
Parrot can fly. Parrot can pick up tarantula and drop him in water. Tarantula no can swim. Tarantula dies. Epic win for parrot!!

If it's just mountain and valley folds, how hard could it be?

Re: ginshun
The post did ask a question, just for fun, but was intended to start my gallery. These two I did Tuesday and Wednesday nights, and there will be more to come. If I can ever find the diagrams that I did for my gargoyle, I will post that as well, as it is basically my only original model.
Anyway, I am going with the spider, as he slightly outweighs the parrot (they were started with 10"x15" and 12" square sheets respectively)

Re: ginshun
No, no those are not my designs, those belong to Robert J. Lang, I just folded them (badly in comparison I might add). I do have a gargoyle someplace that I did about 7 or 8 years ago though, if I can find the diagrams.
for a little more...

First attempt at Eric Joisel's dwarf. Folded from an 8"x8" square of analysis pad. Thanks to the thread on this forum for the tips. One of my few tries at folding from cp, and one of the only ones to come out decent.

Re: ginshun
your design? i love it! i would change mine to say thinking of candy!
my website http://www.gabrielorigami.com/
Re: ginshun
No, not my design. I wish!
Design is "The Thinker" by Neil Elias, based on the famous Rodin statue of the same name.
Folded from a Burrachos burrito wrapper.
You'd have to fold it from a candy wrapper to make it "thinking of candy" - that'd be tough, unless you get some BIG candy. LOL

Made and folded tissue foil for the first time this weekend. Below are the results.
first ever tissue foil model - Mantroll's Walrus
walrus by ginshun, on Flickr
Antelope, also a John Montroll design

This was supposed to be a llama (Kasahara) but the body got too skinny, to I shortened the neck and lengthened the head and made it into a Dachshund

And lastly, Lang's Hummingbird from Origami Design Secrets

Having a blast with the tissue foil - easy to make and fun to fold!
