Iron man cp
Hey guys, I just enturpreted the Iron man cp from Brian Chan. I only have one question for any of you who have, or want to fold it. How do you shape it? the colors almost come out of no where in his picture. there are so many extra flaps that I don't know what to do with!
Usually I can fold his cp's no problem. Just today I made his long horned stag beetle.
But that's a different topic. I would much appreciate it if you helped me out.

Thank you for your post origamimasterjared, I have folded the base quite a few times, but the pleats in #8 don't reverse to gold like I want it to, and there are four flaps total in the head area that I have no clue what to do with
do you think you can fold it and show me haw this goes...I'm stumped.

Re: Iron man cp
It's a 40 x 40 grid.

Re: Iron man cp
wow thanks!
how many units down do the fingertips come? tips meaning the center of the flaps, btw, to avoid confusion

Re: Iron man cp
If you take a print out of the cp, and fold the 40x40 grid on it, then you can see ALL exact references. To avalon doing this again in the duture, sketch it on graphing paper:)

Re: Iron man cp
dude what typos =D what do you mean by 'avalon'? xD is it avoid? rofl? "i'm waiting for the angels of avalon waiting for the eastern glow"
jokes aside, yes, i should try it out on a graph paper. the bottom references are pretty basic, with diagonals folded to the middle, and i see how that comes to 40ths =D
thanks, man!

Re: Iron man cp
Sorry, it was 2:00 in the morning, I just got off work...those typos are pretty funny XD You're welcome!
Re: Iron man cp
the model is not based on a grid.
the bottom part/legs is 1/4 of the paper (folded in half & again to that point)
when I folded it I worked my way up from that point and easily got all the references/finished precreasing in under an hour.

Re: Iron man cp
Just from looking at the CP, it is based on a grid. Divide the upper portion of the outer quarters in 5ths, and the intersection of the 4/20 (1/5) crease with the opposite main diagonal is the axial crease just below the head--connecting the arms/fingers. The bisectors above that crease give all the references for the head, and all are based on 40ths.

Re: Iron man cp
It is a grid. It's a 40x40 grid. which includes 1/5 and 1/4! Look again at your references yevgen.
Re: Iron man cp
sorry, You can fold this with a 40x40 grid.
I have made a photodiagram on how to easily precrease it without one:

hope this helps
