Very complex and imjpressive origami box?

Post by Carlos25 »

A friend asked me to make one for agifthe's giving, but I can't think of boxes more complex than Tomoko Fuse's. Anyone can think of something even better?

If it's for a gift, It would have to be able to close, right? No open ended boxes then, I suppose.

I love boxes, so I just had to reply to this, but I'm sorry to say my response won't be too helpful:

I would propose Rikki Donachie's DRAGON BOX, as the most complex origami box. Unfortunately, he claims in his site he will never make diagrams for it :(.

Maybe another option is "Precious Cargo" or a "Puzzle Box" by Firstfold. He is a fellow member here in the forum. You could use a second paper for the lid in PRECIOUS CARGO, but the gift can't be too heavy. He has created more than one PUZZLE BOX, this is just one version.

He might teach you how to fold one of them if you ask :).

I would love to check out other complex origami boxes :).

Would this box lid be complex enough for you?

If you're interested there's a video showing how to make it at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQlGBrsZGJI

I wish an origami master would create a box similar to this one. That would be a way cool and complex box :D:

But not too similar; it wouldn't be an original work then ;). Me?... I definitely don't have the skill.
