Blue Whale by Satoshi Kamiya

So I've folded the Blue Whale by Satoshi Kamiya recently. And I was wondering if this model is really meant to be a complete back-opening model or if I missed something in the diagrams. With a lot of shaping I was able to get the back a bit more closed but there is no sort of locking mechanism provided, at least I did not find any.

Can anyone who has folded this model confirm that problem?

I'm very sure that this is a problem of the design and not of my folding since all the pictures I've seen of this whale (as was mentioned in another topic there are not really many pictures of it) are from the bottom so that the back can't be seen.

I would post pictures but it was my first attempt at this model and it did not turn out that nicely in some parts

I didn't see any way to lock the back shut.
I wet folded it and tried to get it as closed as possible but it still opens a little.
