Re: Eamon McCandless
Well, I re-vamped my elephant design, and I think it is much better. The old and new do not even compare.
Old:

New:

The basic structures are the same, but I made the legs bulkier and improved the head. Hope you like

Re: Eamon McCandless
Cool
I just think that the ears should come out of the head instead of the body.. If you can fix that, it would be a great design

I would rather fail trying than fail without trying....

Re: Eamon McCandless
I know, the ears...I designed this model sterting from the back legs to the front, and so by the time I got to the head, all I had was a really long flap. I'll look into better ways to form the ears, but for now I'm happy with it

I know you were expecting better tusks, but oh well.

Also, a tiny Kamiya Cerberus

Re: Eamon McCandless
Well, forum, I need some help. I have found out that Josh Goutam's African Elephant has a similar structure to mine. Would mine be considered a variation of his, or my own original model? Here is his CP-

Along with the only image of the folded model I could find

Compared to mine-

My main concern is the forelegs, not to mention the flap distribution and the triangle in the ear area(not included in my CP, it has no reference). So can I call this elephant my own, or did I "plaigerize" , which if I did, is completely unintentional, and I apologize if I did so.

Re: Eamon McCandless
they look pretty different to me.. on my flickr, people thought my dragon cp looked like ryujin 1.2 cp, even though its completely different. If you think about it,all cp's are similar in some way.

Re: Eamon McCandless
I agree with you. Still, take away all the fancy stuff in both our elephants' front legs, and you're left with a rabbit ear. And they both are from a 3/4 blintzed sheet. However, the heads are different (mine is sculpted more so than folded), and the back legs on Josh's are made by "tapering" the belly, then pleating, as opposed to a 22.5 deg. Crimp on mine. Then again, I might agree because I don't want to go throgh designing a WHOLE new elephant
So what do other people think?

Re: Eamon McCandless
Manuel Sirgo's lobster. It was nice and efficient, and didn't suffer from splaying layers...Just kidding

After seeing Langko's new lobster, I wanted to fold one, and I found the diagrams in my downloads.(Don't worry, I got them off of Passionorigami.)

Divine Boar of Kamiya

Also, I need some ideas. I have had a sheet of dark green pearl crumpled paper, and have no idea what to do with it. Any ideas?

Re: Eamon McCandless
I like your elephant, but isn't the head a bit too small compared to the rest of the body? Also, very nice lobster and Divine Boar. As for the paper, maybe a frog of some sort or a plant?
Re: Eamon McCandless
shuki katos western dragon? the diagrams are free on his flickr, and it might look cool in green.
