Does anyone know where I can purchase thin kraft (wrapping?)paper that is colored on one side and brown with thin shadow lines on the brown side - or even what it's called if it has a "proper" title. I presently have two rolls (quickly dwindling) that I think came from IKEA of all places - now for the life of me I cannot find the same type of kraft paper anywhere! Would love to buy rolls of this paper it is wonderful for 1st attempts and also for final folds. Any help greatly appreciated.
Hideo Komatsu's Little Bird is folded with this type of Kraft on the cover of tanteidan 146!
In the United States, the big box craft stores generally have a limited supply of kraft rolls, oftentimes in dark beige, light beige, red, blue, green and white. Sometimes duo color, oftentimes not.
Kimscrane has one of the larger varieties of kraft paper, many duo colors, however seems to sell only individual sheets . You may need to check with them, as to roll availability .
I believe that Germany has a good kraft supply company, Modulor, and possibly Paper Mart in the U.S. also has a good supply of roll paper.
Origami-shop has excellent super thin kraft paper .
Oftentimes, I will end up spray painting one side , rarely both sides, when needed.
Sorry I can't be more specific ...
May I wish success to all who cope with the mountains & valleys of Life,
with all its peaks & depths, as well as Origami .
The name for this type of kraft paper is ribbed kraft paper and this is the only supplier I have found that sells it thin enough for origami.
