Submit your wishes to see diagrams in Drawing Origami Coll
Hi guys
Thanks for your wonderful feedbacks for our book "Drawing Origami Tome 1" http://tinyurl.com/nf6ywpw
Our Team are now working on the Tome 2 and we are selecting a first list of models that we already have in stock. But we are always looking for more amazing models.
How we usualy select a model for the book ?
Most often we visit regarly all blog/site/flickr/Convention report to find THE amazing model that we love and then we contact the author to see if she/he is interested to work with us. Some time, we accept also a direct request from an author. But anyway, we could miss some incredible models. That's why we would like to use this topic to expand our search with your help. It could be also a good way for you to share our adventure with us and influence the choice of model.
How that could work ?
- FOLDERS : You discover a model and you would like to fold it one day / You always wanted to see the diagram of a famous author that never publish it /You know an old model that it has never been published anywhere and so it could be lost ...etc => publish here the photo, name of author and/or any informations you could have
- AUTHORS: you would like to see one of your model in the book : => publish here the photo with your request
How our team will use this topic ?
- When we need a new model, we will see your list of wishes and we will select the models which attract us the most
- If we are able to work with the author and get a diagram, we will notify you here
- Warning : please note that we will not reply to all requests : this topic is like a "Wishlist" where you have the possibility to write all your wishes. Then we will select some in according to our possibilities. So for example if you're a author and you don't receive feedback from us, do not think that we despise you. Maybe your model will be selected later.
Now, be crasy - Do not have limite and give us your wishes to see the origami of your dream having a diagram !

Re: Submit your wishes to see diagrams in Drawing Origami Co
My debut post on the forum. Greetings from Venezuela!
Ok, here are a few of my wishes, a few diagrams I've been dying to see:
-A platypus. Yes, there are a few simple ones (Saito Riki has an unbearably cute one, and I love Anita Barbour's take), but I am yet to see a realistic one. Román Díaz, I am throwing the gauntlet. (My own attempts to design one have become, shall we say, disappointing.)
-How about two lovebirds (the parrots, not the traditional, dovelike birds) from one paper?
-A witch, but more like the traditional Italian "Befana" legend (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Befana)
-A pole dancer (pole and dancer made from one paper --I have also attempted to design one and failed).
Can't wait!

As selfish as it may be, I'd love to see my own model in the pages of such a fantastic book.

Thanks guys ! Already some great ideas which attract us a lot ! So difficult to choose but please keep in mind that even if we don't choose your model now, we want to use this list as a reminder to keep in mind all the possibilities of publication. Please continue to post your wishes !
>Gen Hagiwara's sheep or chipmunk
I can confirm that the Chipmunk will be in the next book of Gen that I should publish this year !
Hope the sheep could be also in the book

I designed this a while back--it was a pair of swans from one square. I even diagrammed it, so maybe I can find the diagrams and get them in the book.Jaycer17 wrote:-How about two lovebirds (the parrots, not the traditional, dovelike birds) from one paper?

Some good artists to look at as a general suggestion:
Seth Friedman
Gen Hagiwara
Steven Casey
Sebl
Quentin Trollip
Joseph Wu (though from what I see he doesn't diagram much).
All of them have clever and charming looking designs that fit with the drawing style.
