Re: Fortune teller origami to the book
Do you mean any type of variation (an animal, box, geometric shape, etc.) made from the traditional fortune teller?
I want to be sure that I understand.
Thanks in advance

Re: Fortune teller origami to the book
Exactly, any variation made from the fotune teller. Animal, box, decoration... I show my attempt, it is a decorational star. I also tried to design stegosaur and yes, it works, but it looks... different
You can also use just a basic principle of a fortune teller, I mean two times make blintz fold on the opposite sides. If you design very complex model of T-rex with claws and you need a fingers, please develop some rivers or so to make it. But use the basic principle of the fortune teller. I hope you understand me...

Re: Fortune teller origami to the book
I'm interested in the challenge . When is the last day to submit models?
I suppose they have to be new models especially created for this challenge, right? I just noticed a group of old models of mine are variations of the fortune teller.
I hope you get lots of participants for the challenge . You should ask the moderators to move it to the challenge subforum so people can easily find it.
One last question, can you tell us a little about your book project? Is it all about variations of the fortune teller?
Cheers!

It's actually interesting I wanted to create a gag comic about an origami club and one of the ideas I was floating around was fortune tellers. Unfortunately my drawing talent lacking in quality.Ondrej.Cibulka wrote:Hello people!

Could you give a link to the diagrams of this base. I have never seen it before, at least I do not think so.

Gerardo:
Let's set the deadline to 11.12.2015. You can use old models, but unpublished models will have higher priority.
About the book: I published models based on fish base and pig base in previous book. I would like to continue with blintz base, kite base and (maybe) other. The chapter about blintz fold will be divided to three (or four) section.
A) blintz fold - pajarita and conected traditional models (sailboat, catamaran, fish, etc.). I have also one model with the author, beluga by me.
B) fortune teller (blintz fold two time on the opposite sides) - fortune teller, spanish box, bird or mounth (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0dbteMMcLA).
C) three times blintz fold on the opposite sides - yakko-san and his family, steam boat and the model of the fighter by Petr Stuchlý.
So the lowest amount of the models are for B), so I am trying to find any model with the author. And as a appendix I will probably show the model of traditional lotus as a fourth possibility - two (or three) times blintz fold, but on the same side.

Re: Fortune teller origami to the book
Thanks for your answer Ondrej. OK, I'm in! I'll work on a new model. I hope to share it soon .
Will this new book be like this other book of yours: http://www.albatrosmedia.cz/en/origami.html ? A copy of the new book would be a cool prize for the winner. What do you think?
And one last question, can you guarantee us that the name of the model published in your book will be respected? I was really offended when a book changed the name of one of my models. I decided not to participate in any other book that can change the name of my models. I hope you understand.
Thanks as well for proposing this fun challenge. Few challenges get me interested but I really liked the idea of variations of the fortune teller .

Re: Fortune teller origami to the book
Actually, this new book will be direct follow-up of that mentioned book. Previous book contains some models by foreign designers as David Brill, Cupcake, Joseph Wu, Steven Casey etc. and all of them have their own copy of the book. It means that if someone will contribute to this sequel he/she will obtain his/her copy of the book for sure
I promise I will not change the name of the model, just translate it to Czech.
Thank you for participation on this challenge and I hope that other people will join too!

Re: Fortune teller origami to the book
I don't have a model for a fortune teller fold only a regular blintz. And it doesn't make additional flaps or anything, just widens one flap and adds color change.
Re: Fortune teller origami to the book
Nepafarius, we have time to create something new. Around 20 days; the deadline is on December 11th.
You can do it .

Re: Fortune teller origami to the book
I have a model created, this bat:
It requires a bit more tinkering to get it completely done. The only issue is I probably wont be able to make diagrams in time as I am notoriously slow (Crab diagram one year in the making...and counting). Would it be possible to send in a photodiagram? Or perhaps is there anyone more capable willing to make a diagram?

Re: Fortune teller origami to the book
I believe that photodiagrams, as well as CPs have been acceptable in the past. It would also be nice if you get someone interested in creating diagrams, so both of you benefit...
