Monthly Folding Challgenge: December 2015
The topic for the Monthly Folding Challenge December is "Basilisk".
You might fold either the animal or the mythological creature.
On a side note, I've been to Colombia the first two and a half weeks of November and had the luck to see a real basilisk (animal) in its natural habitat:
Rules:
New model, one regular polygon or rectangle of paper (including square), no cuts, no glue.
The judge for this month is -sebl-.

Hello
some months ago,I already designed a Basilisk. https://www.flickr.com/photos/124930871 ... ed-public/
Would I be allowed to "upgrade" my old Basilisk design? ( larger grid, upgraded wings... ) and take part at the challenge ?

As far as I am aware, upgrades are OK, as long as the model is visibly different.

I can tell this will be an interesting challenge. Hopefully I can get something designed in time. : D

December's been a really busy month for a lot of people with the holidays and everything. Should we move the design topic to re-do in january or just let it slide?

Re: Monthly Folding Challgenge: December 2015
yes, i know i'm a bit late but I do have a bit of reason,
So I saw Baltorigamist's post on the 31st and said to myself "challenge accepted!" and sure enough, later that night, i had a pretty good design set up. The next morning, it took me not one, not two, but FOUR tries to get a final model. Heres why:
attempt #1: white kami, ripped in half
attempt #2: colored kami, blood stain from paper cut
attempt #3: fancy tissue foil, paper was much, much too thick
attempt #4: tracing paper, success!
so (finally) here is my model, based off of this, it's a basilisk warrior. I hope it's within the challenge's boundaries.

the spear is from a separate sheet, just propped up against the hand, and the tail is being stabilized by my tweezers

the winner for this month is Baltorigamist with his Basilisk
sorry Nathanzimet, you model looks great but it's really difficult to see the details with the background with the same color model.
so I hope to see more models for the first challenge of the year
Baltorigamist is the January's judge
happy new year !
