A Little Challenge: Crane
I've seen this challenge posted on other sites, and thought it would be fun to try here. The object is to create the smallest model you can.
For this I decided on the traditional crane, as is most commonly used, and came up with some simple rules.
Two pictures should be taken. The first is a side shot of the crane, in order to show that it is easily recognizable as a crane.
The second is a top down shot next to a ruler. Two things:
1) The model's wings should be completely straight, as the wingspan if what we're measuring
2) The measurements should be in millimeters.
The winner is whoever can fold the smallest crane by the end of the month. So grab your tweezers, get your magnifying lenses ready, and good luck

Re: A Little Challenge: Crane
Alright here is my first submission, I need to make a piece of paper that won't fray (dang cheap spray glue!)
Here's the side shot:
AND (drum roll) it measures 9mm! Not that small but the best I can do so far:
I'll try to get some tools and better paper but this is the best one I have so far.

^Agreed.
Not that there would be an easy means of proof, but I think the smallest crane folded without tools should at least get some recognition.
I used to be able to do cranes from 1cm squares without tools, but it'll be fun to see how small I can go. (:

I have used two knifes to fold the crane. But yes - without tools it's really another challenge

origami_8, I do believe you are the winner! Congratulations!
Do you want to pick the next month's tiny topic? Since this is new I thought we might go off the monthly design challenge setup, but if not let me know and I'll start this month's

Somehow I wasn't aware that there was a deadline to this challenge let alone that we continue with other subjects.
