Icosahedra and rhombic dodecahedra with few modules?
I would like to find some way to manufacture icosahedra, dodecahedra and paper rhombic dodecahedra with few modules.
I know that it is possible to build an icosahedron from only two, three or four modules (there is a way to do it so), unlike the classical method of 10 universal modules, however I can not find the recipe.
Can anybody help me?

I know John Montroll has several polyhedra from one sheet (each) in one of his books. I'm not sure if that's exactly what you're looking for, though.

John Montroll in fact published some books with instructions for several polyhrdra from one sheet of paper. One of these books, "3D Origami Platonic Solids & More", features an icosahedron as well as a rhombic dodecahedron.

I knew how to make these triangular faced polyhedrons with such type of module (sonobe module), but it isn't what I am searching.
In fact and about the topic, I know a way to make paper octahedrons very fast and easilly, which only involves the use of two modules and only 5 folds per module!

Papiroturgo if you can't get Montroll's book you could try to make mark leonard's iso area icosahedron from a hexagon which its CP is freely available from http://make-origami.com/scaffold/scaffold-v2-4-May.pdf

In Tanteidan magazine 111 there are 2 icosahedrons by Tomoko fuse, one is made of 3 modules and the other one of 6.

Mark Bolitho has an icosahedron model made from a single sheet so you can count that as a one unit modular
