Magic spiral cube with rectangle paper

Post by Origami_newbee »

Hey,

i have watched a tutorial about a Magic spiral cube. In the tutorial they are used square paper. It is possible to do the same folding mechanism but use rectangle paper?

The link to the tutorial is

Can anybody help me?

Thanks :)

Since it starts by folding opposite tips to the center, it wouldn't. Or at least you would end up with a irregular shape, but maybe it would still look cool and work. You could also simply fold the excess to make it appear like a square from the beginning, but I don't see much difference between that and starting from a square from the start.

May I ask: why do you wish to fold the model from rectangles instead of squares?
