I have to say folding c.ps that only have one or two pictures is frustrating and time consuming.I have found many figures with photo tutorials and those I enjoy.
I have a bunch of c.p's precreased and prepared with lines an a few clipped up.
Where do I go for assistance ?

Re: Finding the perfect Collapse
If it's box pleated or hex pleated then collaspse one part, then unfold it so you can collapse another part. At the end you will have a cp with very strong creases, then you can collapse the whole thing. Use clips or other things if you need to.
If it's not box pleated I can't help you.

Re: Finding the perfect Collapse
I usually make a box grid any way unless it's a blatant circle packer.
Like most of Jason Ku's c.ps don't have the grid provided but you can sometimes fit it around the main reference points.
I asked because I copied a few crease patterns from Google search ..no tutorials or anything.
I discovered that the authors either drew into a computer or erased the background lines

Yes, I know. It is unfortunate but that's the way it is.
If you are looking for an easy crease pattern to fold, you can use mine. I've included the grid for you. Good luck.
I have more cps on my gallery if you want.
