It's Joisel's Hedgehog.

For an armadillo I'd have a bunch of flattening and blunting of flaps to do, along with making some ears. Ears would be minimal work though.

While waiting for the Tanteidan Convention Book 12 which will have diagrams for Brian Chan's One-Square Rose, I've tried myself at the Rose by Cu Kim Ngoc (White Angel).

Folded from CP using 15cm x 15cm Japanese foil:

You can find the CP on Cu Kim Ngoc's Flickr page. Thanks for sharing it :-D

I was actually surprised how easy the idea behind the rose is and it's quite straight forward to fold it. The main problem is shaping the rose in the end and I was not very successful with it
So long and keep folding ^_^

Rose by Brian Chan
Rose by Robert J. Lang
Fighting Beetles by Hojyo Takashi (the ones seen on the cover)
Elephant by Marc Kirschenbaum
Metalifier by Satoshi Kamiya
So long and keep folding ^_^

And an old design, but a new audience. These photos have just been accepted for publication in the international medical journal 'Injury', for trauma and orthopaedic surgeons. I'm not sure on the exact date of publication, but watch this space...

As doctor Fishgoth said, a banana slug is a big ol' slug that looks kind of like a banana (it's yellow). It's also the mascot of UC Santa Cruz. My friend who goes there hates the mascot, so I created one :)
