Created Halloween, 2006. From a See's Chocolate wrapper. The pictured skull was not folded from a square, but it could be, with the extra paper closing up the back. (I have not yet found suitable paper, and cannot allow myself to fold an inferior version)
Created yesterday. From a six inch square of origami paper.
Congratulations to everyone who entered. All of the entries are great, and everyone who submitted should be proud of their work. There were some splendid entries.
I have ranked models on several criteria, including whether the design looks like a skull, presentation of the model, originality of folding, and whether I'd like to have a go folding it or not!
And the winners are...
In 3rd place, Origami_8
A nice simple design that looks exactly like a skull, with minimum effort.
In 2nd place, Melisande
A nice adaptation of an existing design, and a great photo.
In 1st place, Anermak
A great design, with a nice balance of complexity and simplicity. The model is 3D, looks very much like a skull, and has an excellent overall form. Anermak's other skull design deserves a mention, too, although I though this first entry was the better of the two.
So, I hope everyone enjoyed the challenge! Congratulations to the three winners, who I invite to PM me with ideas for future challenges. And congratulations to Anermak, who gets to declare themselves 'Ultimate folder of the universe'. For the next 30 days
The challenge for April is 'Pure and Simple', of which Anermak will be invited to judge at the end of April. Enjoy!

I once set up an origami PLC. But the business folded.
