Sorry, but I've found that looseleaf, if thats what you mean, rips way to easily! (yet copy paper doesn't...)

And the background: I felt that I just had to :D However, it's just put on the old background (which was a black chair, by the way)

Since Cupcake started following my example with Hideo Komatsu models, I decided to post a few more that I have been working on. I am actually very proud of the wolf I have folded from CP. The wolf is an unpublished work of Hideo Komatsu found here. Anyways here are my photos, expect more of the remaining 6 or so models I have left to redo.

I don't like the wolf much, because it hardly looks like a wolf. but you've done a really good job with folding that CP

yesterday I've folded Komatsu's giraffe. I like it very much, it's (as always) a very nice Hideo Komatsu model. I can't wait to see a book of his work.

I'm not completely satisfied with the head, but nevertheless it's a very nice giraffe.

If the CP is unpublished, then how did you get it? Great job on the wolf, I was just looking at it the other day :D

I'd really love to see a "Works of Hideo Komatsu". The owl was actually what inspired me join the forum, in search of a way to fold it.

I have my ways, by unpublished I mean the Hideo Komatsu himself did not publish the CP. I am not sure how the CP came to be, but after folding it, I am sure it is for the correct model ;-).
I'd really love to see a "Works of Hideo Komatsu".
Me too, he needs to publish diagrams for his lion and sheep and that would be a great way to do it.

To proof my statement that Komatsu's Caterpillar can be folded from any long rectangle, here's one from about 4cm x 50cm of foil paper.

The final caterpillar is about 13cm long in its compressed stage, and about 27 cm long when fully extended :-)

This is another really amazing model by Hideo Komatsu, and only folding it yourself and then having the final result in your hands can actually show you how ingenious the model is.
So long and keep folding ^_^

I tried folding Satoshi Kamiya's Cyclommatus metalifer for the fist time. I ran out of large practice paper so I used 15 Cm japanese foil. I will fold this again using better paper when I get time.

Nice job on the beetle Phil! I have seen many people trying this lately, and it has peaked my interest. Did you fold it from a crease pattern or daigrams? Is it difficult (i supose this is somewhat of a silly question though, because it is by Satoshi Kamiya after all)

Thanks!

If you can't fold it, try a bazooka.

I folded it from diagrams but I don't think it could be that complex when folding from a cp since it's mostly box pleated... not that I could do it.
