Theme of a May call will be " the world of insects ".

In data topic, insects collected by you will be presented.
You can take models of others well-known authors executed by you are supposed, kinds fold, turnings, from one or several parts of a paper...
Restrictions for paper-size/format/number are not present
One requirement, you should not use glue

May I recommend an additional rule?

If your photo has already been posted on the forum, or on the internet BEFORE you post it on this thread, then that entry will be banned There are already some superb insect models folded by members of this forum, and this thread could rapidly become a dustbin for huge amounts of photos otherwise.

Anyway, I am without my laptop for a couple of weeks, while it is at the doctors. As a result, I can't use my regular website, nor can I edit my photos or link properly to my camera. So here goes nothing...

1) Origami wasp. Folded from 6" foil-tissue sandwich, one square, no cuts. Designed and folded by me.





Edit: Ugh - photo has come out huge. Overall model is roughly 2" long.

Edit2: Changed from nasty geocities pictures to smaller fishgoth.com pictures - my laptop is fixed

2) Harlequin beetle. Folded from 6" foil-tissue paper. One square, no cuts. Designed and folded by me.





I'll stick decent photos (and maybe crease patterns) on my website when I finally get around to updating it.

This is a brand new - first time possted model:
Posting on another site first (I used my website minutes before showing it here) is the only way I know of displaying the model here - any suggestions?
Can I download graphics straight to the forum?

Dang thats some wasp fishgoth. I really like the colour changes at the abdomen, pure genius. I stuff up at creating insects, but i managed to find old creations of mine so here goes.

I've done some revision to my simple Madagascar Hissing Cockroach model's thorax and antenna. I think it makes the model much cleaner and easier to fold:

I had planned to add an outer shell - but I still have to work out a few "bugs" (pun intended).

Besides, I think it is nice to see how the inner mechanism works !
