Here's another Kamiya model out of 42x42 tissue foil. Divine Dragon (Bahamut). I love this model, and with this size and type of paper, I love it more .
I did something wierd with the colors in photoshop. I'm horrible at editing pictures apparently.
You love it, JeossMayhem? Then you must be a masochist, because these two have been giving me nightmares for the last week (yes, I've been in a "Kamiya-mood" as well). You've done a nice job though, especially for a tissue foil...
Haha, moonglow, your comment cracked me up. Nice work on the dragons. What kind of paper did you use? You seemed to have no problem making them keep their shape. Whenever I fold them out of anything not foil-backed they split open like they've exhausted themselves, haha.
And phil, you make me very jealous. That looks awesome.
Spinosaurus by Issei Yoshino, from an 8 inch square of red metallic (not foil) paper. I wanted to see if the stuff is foldable. Obviously it is, but it's not the easiest to work with, being very springy and pretty thick.
While it doesn't exactly look like a Spinosaurus, it was a very creative and fun piece to fold.
PS. Camera flash does absolute WONDERS for shiny origami....
Haha, I bought some silver/gold mettalic plastic wrap on accident at the dollar store, thinking it'd work well, but it sticks to itself like saran wrap. I took the cardboard tube for making tissue foil and threw the wrap away.
I agree though, when I saw that model, I didn't think it looked very accurate. But the paper looks like it mold well, at least for less complex models.

The problem is, I just don't know what kind of paper it is. I just found it in a paper shop in my town. And I didn't ask too many questions, I just grabbed it and ran home to make some dragons. It's almost as thin as tissue but much, much more crisp. And I had A LOT of problems with shaping, especially with bahamut. I even had to use a drop of (don't read that if you have a bad heart) glue to keep it standing...

You mean Abra? That might be what it's supposed to be, but the long narrow beard-like point throws me off. Then again, the point could just be an extra, unused point. Abra also has a tail. Here's a pic:
