The cat is folded from a 10x24.5 cm rectangle of Elephant Hide paper and the horse from a 35x35 square of MC treated Washi-like paper.

are those crepe papers?
I bought some tissue papers that looks like those.. and they came with the same creases like yours.
So they must be crepe papers, right? :D
