That is one of the best sea turtles that I have ever seen. In fact, as of now, it ranks higher than KAMIYA's for me. The only problem is that I can see the precreases, but thats to be expected with tissue foil.
Speaking of tissue foil...
I remade my Xylotrupes Gideon, now without boxpleating.
I must have learned something about tissue foil, because this one didn't wrinkle nearly as much as the last one.
Well, seeing precreases is going to happen with every paper if you aren't careful where you put them. With tissue foil, you can at least rub out the creases you don't want-they will still appear, but they will be much less defined.
And I don't know about better than Kamiya's, but that is definitely a very nice turtle. The head is great this time around, and it definitely captures the spirit of a Hawksbill.
Hah, thanks guys, but I still think Kamiya's is much better, though there are things about mine I like more.
On terms of the underside, I probably could do something with it's plastron, but the way I've designed it, you see both sides of the paper when you flip it over. If I wanted to use paper with the same color on both sides, then it wouldn't be hard at all. Anyway, I've posted up the crease patterns on my blog for anyone who wants to give it a try.
It feels so good to actually design something. I probably spent a good fifty hours total (folding and drawing CP after CP) and it feels great once it pays off. I hope I can convince other people to start designing too.
And nice work, Cupcake. You've been designing long enough to not reply on box-pleating all the time. I'm getting there, hah...

are those crepe papers?
I bought some tissue papers that looks like those.. and they came with the same creases like yours.
So they must be crepe papers, right?
When I checked with the stationery store where I bought the paper, he was not sure whether it was tissue or crepe paper, However, I think you might be right .

Those are some very good designs. I love the armor effects-are the breastplates made by fanning out and separating the pleats? It is a pity that the pictures aren't better-they are not flattering portrayals of your work.
Looks great, but the Centaur's horse body is too thin (and rectangular). You should be able to pull out an extra layer to make it shaped more like a horse. The man part of the centaur looks amazing though.

So I did some designing this weekend...
After folding it a few times, making some adjustments along the way, and some photo doctoring, here's what I came up with. Hopefully I will fold this from better paper soon.
Thank you-it is my design. I will probably draw up a crease pattern for it, but don't expect diagrams for it anytime soon (I am pretty bad at diagramming right now).
