I folded some Sunflowers for my mother, I hope she likes them.
The paper I used is two layers of tissue paper glued together with spray adhesive to avoid that the colours bleed into each other. The paper was very soft and ideal for this model where during the folding process a lot of layers have to be folded together, where my bought two coloured paper ripped immediately. Unfortunately I forgot who the author is.
The stems are just aluminium foil and tissue paper folded together a few times.
Nice work on the Fugu! But don't you have a better kind of paper than foil? I would assume it'd be a bit easier to fold with something thicker/wrinkle resistant (and less reflective). How long did the model turn out? 12cm?
This is just a test folding..........,
the finished model is about 11.5cm and you really need a veryyyyy thin paper to fold this fugu fish or else you will have difficulty squashing and overlapping the edges at the bottom of the mouth.
Oh, I thought the mouth was just made by tucking in the outer edge into the model. I guess that makes sense then. (By the way, I wasn't criticizing the appearance of your fold as much as the paper choice for testing, but it appears I was wrong anyway, heh.)
Hi! It's been a long while since I've been active on here. I deleted my Dropbox years ago, so some things, like my Dragonfly Varileg guide, are lost to time. I may still have other things, though! Email me if you have any questions.
Yes, the pattern is the same as on Kade's magic ball. But I have a hunch the magic ball was inspired by Sipho's design (which as far as I know was designed long before).
Now i've got Satoshi's book about a year and i never fold the divine dragon. so it was the last model from the book i finally got through.
this model takes a lot of patience, more than the ancient dragon in my opinion, and gives a pain in the neck But the result of course is amazing.
I started with a 50x50cm double tissue square
And that's what came out , 15cm high and 22cm long

Seals on rocks folded from 15cm kami.
The left one is by Martin Wall, the right one by Sergio González.
I stumbled across the model by Martin Wall some minutes ago and was very surprised when I read that the model was by him, because I remembered folding a similar model by Sergio González some time ago.
Both models have completely different folding sequences and the resulting models are of different sizes as well.
Does anyone know if one of the models was inspired by the other or if both authors just had the same idea?
