With what kind of paper did you fold it?
I used a mah-jong paper(mah-jong is a chinese game for those who dont know, they use big sheets of paper which has a shiny coating on one side and nothing on the other for a surface so the mah-jong pieces dont damage the table, the pieces are usually made out of ivory or something heavy like that) foil sandwich. It's pretty nice in the pre-creasing but it gets pretty thick when you start folding the bird and the deer.

i used a 24x240 rectangle. the 16x160 rectangle might be a tad small.

Not really sure but... I think the Mahjong paper that we're using is similar to Kraft paper.
I also do card models -- http://cutfoldpaste.blogspot.com

Again, it's been a while since I posted here. So, here are the models I made recently :

Dragon by J0nB0n. A really cool model. My favorite part of this model is, obviously, the spines on the back. The head part probably the hardest part to shape. It just never looked good...

Image

Attack of the Kraken by Brian Chan. I finally made this model!... and I don't think I'll make it again in a near future. Not that I don't like it, but it takes FOREVER to pre-crease and collapse the base. Also, the masts and hull are hard to get into place.

Image

Elf ver.1.4 by myself. The previous version, being one of my first official models, had numerous structure problems like the head and shoulder parts. I fixed pretty much all of those problems in this version (along with better shaping overall.)

Image

Naga by myself. This one is a first for me as the grid is based on the diagonal of the square. The tail is actually much longer than it appears. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to curl it up? It is also my first entry for this month's challenge.

Image

Mermaid by myself. It's based of my naga model with some differences like the fins and completely different shaping. It's also my second entry for this month's challenge.

Sunburst, this Naga is amazing, one of the most beautiful Origami pieces I've seen for a while. Her hair, hands and breasts look so real and the body/tail is very well proportioned. I also don't think that it was a bad idea to curl the tail, it looks just about right to me.
Are you planning on publishing any kinds of instructions for your work in the near future?

Where have you found instructions for J0nB0n's dragon? I'd like to give it a try.

Wow, thanks Anna! And here I actually thought that people in general would prefer the mermaid... As for me publishing my works, I will probably publish some eventually. I just don't know when (maybe for the Christmas book?) And yes, J0nB0n's dragon CP is in his flickr gallery.

That looks more like a bear's head. In fact, it looks nothing like a penguin Image
