Morgan-your $ Water Buffalo is fantastic-you managed to do so much with the limitations of a dollar bill-it is perfect!
unknownfolder-you did a pretty good job, but there are a few things that could be improved. It looks like the sides of the body cave inwards a little bit, and they should be bulging outward to suggest volume of a body. The front legs are splaying out, which could be because of folding but is most likely because of the paper you used. You can fix that by wet-folding or by putting a piece of wire inside the model to give the legs more structure. From under the hind legs there is a small crease on the upper side of the body-that may be from a little bit of inaccuracy from spreading out the pleats on the back. It is hard to do well, but it should get easier if you fold it again.
Victoria-you are folding all of these wonderful insects by Vladimir-the designs and your foldings of them look fantastic. Are there crease patterns anywhere online or are you getting them from Vladimir personally? Great work-the dragonfly looks great, especially the tail.

Thank you for the advice Jonnycakes. The caving in of the body was easily fixed by a little bit more shaping. The crease on the side--though I cannot be sure--might have come from a reference crease that I extended across the whole model.
I will have to attempt the model again in the future. It is one of my favorites.

Whenever I do complex Origami I get this sinking feeling.

Hi! It's been a long while since I've been active on here. I deleted my Dropbox years ago, so some things, like my Dragonfly Varileg guide, are lost to time. I may still have other things, though! Email me if you have any questions.

After finishing my diagrams for the origami book I thought I'd try to get a new design started. After a week of pretty much no luck I got this done in one night:
Manatee v.1.0
Geoff Mayhew

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Everyone always guesses its a seal or walrus first, but part of me thinks thats because manatees aren't as familiar (manatees only have one rear flipper!)... How can I make it more recognizable?

Geoff, that looks good.
Add wrinkles throughout the body, but mainly the head (or wet and wrinkle the paper before folding), and maybe add nostrills.
It looks like you can fold it from quite thick paper - maybe wet-fold it from grey Canson paper.
Also the nose/snout could be a bit narrower.
Then it should be ready to go.

Yea, that mask is pretty awesome. I need to get the hang of wet-folding...
Here's the design I submitted to the Christmas book. I thought I'd keep it a secret at least until the book was released:
Armadillo Girdled Lizard, designed by me, folded from 35cm unryu/foil/wax paper.

I'll release the CP in February, but the diagrams will be exclusive to the book.

JeossMayhem : I never knew that sucha lizard existed o_O. It looks pretty cool and it makes me even more impatient to get the Christmas book.
Anyway, here's the latest stuff I folded :
Okami by BluePaper. This wolf is the main character of the video game Okami. I think I like the model as much as the game itself. The folding process is very fun, but the shaping part can be quite hard...

Green faerie by myself. The last of my faerie variations. I still had some stuff I wanted to experiment with my faerie model. Besides, I prefered having four of them instead of three...

Cirno by myself. She's a character from the Touhou video game serie (one I like a lot). I mainly wanted to see if I could adapt my faerie model to make her. I guess I'm more than happy with the result, especially with the color-changed parts.

Jester by myself. The main thing I wanted to try with this was a face graft (although you can't really see it in this blurry picture.) But since this increases the difficulty of the model by a lot, I don't think it's something I will explore often.

More pictures on my galery
In case this is my last post of the year, happy holidays EVERYONE!!!

Yea, it was a big problem to make the fewest number of folds and still get the long, skinny front flippers as well as a recognizable head. I definitely have to return to the design though.
The model in the picture I posted looks a bit angular, but I think that's because of the paper, which was a thick colored foil paper, and shaping it would have only caused ugly wrinkles. It'll look much rounder out of any other kind of paper, hah.
