Yeah, I don't know what I'm getting myself into, but I'm trying. Could anyone suggest any tips for this Kamiya model? Thanks!

How about trying it first and then asking for help if you need it? Or you could try searching the forum-this has probably already come up.

Well that depends too, eastern unicorn (kirin, like a dragon deer/horse mixture), or western unicorn (white horse type).

Both are pretty standard Kamiya models, so thin & strong paper and careful folding would be standard tips :).

I'm using pretty small paper. So far i'm still in the pre-creasing stage near the end.
I fold, therefore I am.

I'm brand new to this forum and I need me some help. I'm trying to fold Satoshi's Eastern Unicorn. The instructions are in Japanese, and one of the steps is really confusing me, I'm not sure if it's because I need the text direction to understand it or if I just misfolded something along the way. I've found several topics from people needing help on this form so I'm thinking this is just the first of many times I'll need advice.

I'm stuck between steps 25 and 26, I'm just not understanding what the diagram is telling me to do here and I don't read Japanese. :)

Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if it's just guidance to a translated diagram.

------------

I'm glad I caught this in time before anyone wasted their time replying. After an hour on this step, and another look, I realized what the issue was. I'm sure I'll be back though. :P

I think I can help you with that. You seem to have done step 125 correctly. For step 126, all you need to do is to pull the bigger rectangular shape (don't touch the small one). The model shouldn't lie flat yet (it will at step 127). The result of these steps through 132 will be that the small rectangular can be seen clearly (not under anything) with a point on top of it (what became of step 126). Hope this helps.

just find a large size paper, then fold.

the first try will maybe not be good, hopefully we can fold it again.

Hi, I'm new here.

I'm trying to fold Kamiya's Kirin, and I am getting stuck in steps 60-62.
Simply put, I have no idea how to get from 61 to 62.

Could anyone please offer some pointers?

Many thanks in advance!

i have succesfully completed this model many times with 6 in. kami. the only problems i have had with it is that the horn got pretty thick. on step 61 you squash the middle flap as if youre sqaushing to make a flower base then the 2 outer flaps you sqaush as if youre making a preliminary base. i hope this helps. im not that good at explaining stuff. i might post pictures on how to do this.

i assume that your talking about the kirin. although i do not see anything hard about steps 50-51.all you do is make a moutain fold on the crease that you made in step 49 and then make a valley fold so the edge that you just folded lines up with the edge that has 2 folded edges.
