I can't collapse this abysmal base!!!

Say...something doesn't quite add up here...

I collapse the base already. It wasn't fun. At all. In fact, it has driven me away from folding crease patterns. Also, I have no idea how to complete the shaping. The base LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THIS.

I believed/thought I finished it, but it was incorrect. So now I can't figure out what the base should look like. Also I tried ORIPA, but I can't get it to draw corrrectly. Some of the lines are off of the 40x40 grid...

Do you by any chance have some pictures of the base?

I tried a test fold of this model and only finished collapsing it. Are the top and bottom points along the center supposed to fold behind the model to make the body? Or are the legs supposed to be somehow sunk through the model? Also does anyone have any advice on shaping the wings out?
