Very nice dwraf band JUANC !!

Froy: The Ancient Dragon looks very impressive, you should consider putting the photo on Mr. Kamiya's "100 Ancient Dragon Challenge" webpage.

For the Chinese New Year (of the ox).

Folded (dry) from a 13 inch square of some old crisp mulberry paper I had, back-coated to itself. He's about 5.5 inches long.

Johnnycakes, that design is breathtaking!
I like the clean structure of the shell a lot. It looks very different from all the other hermit crab shells i know.

Gratulations :-)

Thank you very much, max!

Victoria and Artur, those butterflies are fantastic. It is fantastic how Kamiya designed the wings, and just as amazing that you were able to decipher how to fold them. Great work!

Beautiful shell and great paper choices

Post by cedison »

Jonnycakes the shell is great and the overall design is sweet.

Victoria I love the blue paper you used for the butterfly. It is a perfect shade.

Artur I really like the first butterfly although they are both terrific renditions.

Leap Frogs
1 Square of tissue foil

My favorite models are those that show something happening like some of Brian Chan's or Hojyo's Aquarius. Although the idea is out there to put frogs on leaves, I had never seen this from one sheet of paper, but it may be out there somewhere. Anyway...this was just my stab at it.

Quitting my job has given me so much time to fold.

I first folded Sipho's Fugu out of japanese foil as a test. Here's my refold out of a piece of MC treated mulberry, somewhere around 45cm. Worked pretty well, I thought, but I'm not experienced enough with wet-folding to get something anywhere near as presentable as Sipho's. The mouth was difficult! And I kind of gave up on the eyes, heh:

And here's a re-fold of my hawksbill turtle design out of a 48cm square of MC treated lokta paper. Also should try wet-folding this design, though I made a piece of unryu/foil/tissue paper for another attempt:
