I have never made this model, but I would probably overlap two of the sheets then glue or MC them together. I would think that tape would create a weak spot, and the creases wouldnt hold very well over that section.

This is something I have been wondering for a long time:
How the heck do you collapse these constructs in the CP?

Hi! It's been a long while since I've been active on here. I deleted my Dropbox years ago, so some things, like my Dragonfly Varileg guide, are lost to time. I may still have other things, though! Email me if you have any questions.

It's kinda hard to explain (I have done so many test folds of it and still can't really figure it out) whenever I do it, it takes a long time of fiddeling with it, but it eventally collapses. I have a couple photos that show the collapsing of it, but I want to make sure that it is ok with Kafar before I upload them, because they are his pics :)

P.S. I made a tiny ryu zin 2.1; it was print and folded  (ok ok, I didnt quite get the head or the scales, but I did do the pleats of the scales, as in the far left part of Starpartner's model) I'll try to get the progress-pics up soon :D

First you have to squash fold, and then closed sink, like in the pleats on the back of the Inoshishigami. If you have folded it once I think you can understand the process. ( I figured out that way, I don't know if there is an other process)

Could you take a picture of what the structure looks like?

Righty-o then, Froy! :)

Edit: Thank you, Froy! I got the photodiagrams. The construct was simpler than I expected!

With a little more collapsing.....

It looks pretty sloppy, and the head is a mess, but at least it is recognizeable!

now, time for the real thing........

Wow. Tiny.

I am planning on making Ryu-Zin 2.1 over the weekend. I am already making the paper. Hopefully the tissue foil is a good paper choice. I don't have anything bigger.

I've decided to leave the tissue foil for late. I'm switching to Kraft paper. I find the tissue foil a bit hard to work with.

The 2.1 claws? Well, it is kind of like collapsing the feet of SK's bahamut.

Here are some pics that I found a while ago for the claws on godzebu's photostream:

hope this helps! If it doesn't, check on godzebu's full photostream, he has loads of help :D

P.S. Thanks about the tiny ryu zin :D
