If I understood the question correctly, what you want to know is this:

On the bottom there is one "extra unit" then a seven unit part which will become the scales.

On the top you have two extra units, and again seven units for the scale part.

Unit is based on the 80x80 grid.
So long and keep folding ^_^

Thanks Daydreamer. That was the right understanding of the question. :)
Sorry Jared, I should have been more eloquent when I phrased the question.

Well, this is disappointing news. I had already collapsed the entirety of the bottom half of the CP, and was starting on the scales when I realize there was something wrong. Looks like I'll have to start over... :(

Hi! It's been a long while since I've been active on here. I deleted my Dropbox years ago, so some things, like my Dragonfly Varileg guide, are lost to time. I may still have other things, though! Email me if you have any questions.

Here is the process:
1. Figure out the crease assignments in the CP.
2. Precrease the paper according to the crease assignments.
3. Collapse along the existing ceases.
4. Shape the collapsed base.
5. Take a picture and post it on the forum.

Although, it is easier to not precrease for Ryu-Zin 2.1, considering you can just fold as you go along without having any trouble.
To fold a model, you don't necessarily have to have the diagrams. Sometimes the CP can be just as fun. All it takes is a little resourcefulness and ingenuity! :)

I agree! CPs are really fun for me! I usually print one off each night and fold it at school the next day. Anyway, I am going to attempt the 2.1 soon, but I cant find any of this kraft paper people keep talking about. Is it sold under another name in the US?

I'm not sure. Here in Canada, I usually get it from an art store called DeSerres (formerly Loomis and Toles). You could probably find it at an art store of some sort, unless you've already tried.

Well, you start with a grid, but if you haven't figured that out on your own you won't proceed from there. Fold something simpler instead!
