Just updating my progress:
On the fourth day, and about 9 hours in, finished the head and the scales on the top. All that is left is the 350 or so scales on the bottom and figuring out how to put the thing together. Any tips on that?

Sorry, no pic this time.

I ordered really thin kraft paper (28gsm, about the weight of tissue paper), and it works great. I can't say how good the normal kraft paper is though.

Heres my (sideways) progress after 11 hours:

@macuch: There are no diagrams for the ryu-jin. Kamiya released the cp for 2.1 on his website, and everyone here is folding it from that.

*sigh* how many times has it been asked "Where are the diagrams?" We should just put that into the forum rules: "Do not ask for Ryu Zin diagrams." ;)

This is just my personal opinion, many people will probably disagree with the, though :)

Actually, Insaneorigami, there is a forum rule which states, "DO NOT request diagrams", so asking for ryu-jin diagrams is a breach of that rule.

Anyway, like many human figures or kamiya designs, I think it is impossible to do using diagrams and the only method is collapsing the CP. The assymetry of the CP makes me think so as even Kamiya's wizard used collapsing to a cetain extent.
