In my country, you can't find such big tissue paper. MC is even rarer. Does wrapping paper work? One sheet of tissue paper treated with MC might be a good idea, all the layers in the head and the body require that it be treated more like a bug than a dragon in the folding. Im not sure if they make tissue paper in that size...but you can always MC several sheets together.

Well, I went to DeSerres (a canadian art store), and bought a 2-meter roll of 36" wide Kraft paper. I plan on making the Ryu Zin 2.1. I have started with the gridmaking, and have started the 40ths. Hopefully I will be done in a few weeks!

Hi! It's been a long while since I've been active on here. I deleted my Dropbox years ago, so some things, like my Dragonfly Varileg guide, are lost to time. I may still have other things, though! Email me if you have any questions.

I'm sorry if someone posted this already somewhere, but can someone label the CP of 2.1 as to which part makes what, and what goes where on the finished model? From what I can see, the head is the top-right of the CP, the legs are the mid-left, and the tail is the bottom-right. Also, what I can see - or think that I see - is that the scales go on top and on bottom, but from Kafar's pictures, it looks likethey go in one straight line.

I'm confused.
On the bottom of the CP, there is the scale pattern. On the right hand side, there is a distance of 9 units from the corner to where the diagonal crease line hits the edge. What I don't understand is that the creases don't match up.
The horizontal crease at the diagonal is a mountain fold (assuming that the crease at the very bottom is a mountain), and then the next crease, which intersects the right most mountain, is a valley. the creases do not match up, thus proving it unfoldable.
Any explanation on how it should be folded?
Or will I just have to resort to crease reversal?
EDIT: I looked at Zoraz's progress pics, and it looks like I will have to resort to crease reversal. Ah well.

After much struggle, I finally completely collapsed the bottom half of the Ryu Zin 2.1. And so:
Progress pics!!!

With luck, I will be finished by the end of next Sunday.

Your scales are much nicer than mine! Then again, that was my first time ever folding scales... Can't wait to see it finished!
