Robert J. Lang - Horseshoe Crab

Hi!
I am quite stuck on step 24 on the Horseshoe Crab model in the great book Origami Sea Life by John Montroll and Robert J Lang.
Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

In step 24 you need to open sink both of those flaps.

Ill give the model a try right now, and take a picture of that step to help illustrate

Here are the pictures of the step as promised:
Step 24

Open the flaps

Then open sink both flaps at the same time

Close the layers, and step 24 is complete

EDIT: i found step 36 to also be a little tricky so i took this picture to show the layer distribution after step 36 is complete.
