WOW it looks awesome for your first try...congratz mate i wish mine was that good looking...then again you had better paper than me...my paper was a 61 cm square and pretty thick almost as a copy paper so my model became very thick.
I'm trying to find tissue paper but i don't really know what paper is that??!! I live in romania and i don't think i can find good paper. Maybe you can give me a hint on what tissue paper means or some characteristics

PC dude
A very nice first try indeed. Well done, Majnert!
Though, (@ted385), "best" is a strong word. Didn't you ever browse through Kamiya's AC thread?
I like particularly this masterpiece (said to be folded by Eric Joisel), and this one.

In Poland, we have allegro.pl (something like ebay) and you can buy almost everything there (exept professional origami paper, cause origami is not very popular in Poland)

Hmh yes, Mabona's folding of the Ancient Dragon ... it's a bit of a strange case to me. Without question, it's a top-notch folding, with high amount of detail and everything. The only thing is that, despite the brilliance of the technical execution, I'm not exceptionally thrilled by the overall result. Somehow I am missing the "spirit" in the model.
(Not that I could do any better, or even same good - my Origami usually is in the league of "high aims, mediocre results" ...

all I needed to fold the Ancient Dragon was my (very big
)hands, paper and diagram. I spend a lot of time trying do all the steps perfectly. I had little problem with shaping the wings, so the final result is not exactly as I wished.
sorry about my english, I've got some problems with grammar. I hope you understand me.

My first try was from 50cm x 50cm tissue (about 20gsm). The result was recognizable but not beautifull...
Now I just finnished the second try, made from 1,5m x 1,5m / 40gsm craft paper. The final shaping is quite difficult, because, if the paper is too thin, the legs become too unstable, but with thicker paper the head and horns become too thick.
Anyway I was able to finnished it o/
I made a photoseries of the folding:

More pictures coming, when I get my "home studio" (white canvas hanging from the side of the bed) assembled.
