Black Forest Cuckoo Clock

(And, although this isn't "recent"...)
Ancient Dragon in tree

I would provide a link for where to find the tree, but I cannot remember which web site I got it from.

Ah, that makes sense. :D Thanks Quentin!

Silent Winter, I love the dragon perched on the tree. It looks like it is biting it! As for the cuckoo clock, I like your shaping of the pine cones; they are perfect.

Fanatic, good job!!! The folds are rather solid, unlike when I fodl a 3d model :( .

Nice Generuk :?: , as usual, superb folding- well done!!! I really like the colour changes.

Silent Winter, I really like the Ancient dragon idea. Good choice op paper- makes the tree look as if it has leaves!

grizzlyman, well done, your renditions of the piece are all superb.

No, Gerenuk is quite correct.

It seems that Lionel Albertino has got the name wrong though, because he has a model named Generuk in his book Safari Origami.
So long and keep folding ^_^

Fanatic, darkeagle, legionzilla; Thank you for your positive feedback. :)

Both are Tissue Foil. The tree is 26" (66 cm) (maybe more) of heavy foil with 2 layers of tissue paper on each side. The dragon is 39" (99 cm) of normal foil with one layer of tissue paper on each side.

Also, I found where I got the Tree.

Thanks for digging up the link! I have been looking for a good tree, although I've never tried this style of folding before. I tried first today on ~45cm regular tissue paper and ended up having to use a bit of glue solution to coat it at the very end so it didn't flop. Obviously I'll have to get better paper next time, but it was fun to try. Second attempt was with 15cm foil but I had to change the middle part to hide the white side of the paper.

the left tarantula is from "the complete book of origami" and the right from "Insects II".
