I folded this truncated icosahedron

30 uncut squares of colored copy paper

Someone knows the author? I reverse engineered the units from a picture on flickr.

Where are eny diagrams or cp to fold Eric Joisel origamis

Post by javi »

Grizzlyman, please all we love Eric Joisel models.
But we can only fold the few that he has diagrammed or CP.
How can you fold those masks? Are they in a book that we can buy.
Is there any CP on the net or something like that.
Any help ?
Your folds are wonderfull, anyway.
Bye

yes, there is a book: the booklet 69 of the british origami society. here's a link to a short overview on what to find inside: http://db.origami.com/book_contents.asp?BookID=2840
unfortunately the source section of the bos-homepage is under contruction for a while now and different people told me that it will take another while to get it restarted.
i don't know anything about a cp on the web, 'cause it's still impossible for me to fold from this kind of instruction. so may be you're going to join one of the next british conventions where they'll probably sell their booklets or you'll have to wait for the restart of the source section ...
i'm really looking forward to that day, 'cause i'd like to buy a few things, too.
thanks for your appreciation, javi!

I like modular origami and one of my favourite units is Tom Hull's PHiZZ. Recently I also folded a Lewis Simon's Ring of decoration boxes so I thought: "Why don't use the first steps of this module in order to achieve a variation on PHiZZ?" So I tried and I made a "Simon-Hull's Dodecahedron" with 30 hybrid modules. Maybe is not original but the structure is sturdy and has a nice color-change pattern. Starting with white side down you can reverse the colors.
