I already know lang's rose and kawasaki's roses, I'm looking for some other rather impressive flowers to make , which ones would you recommend?

Hi-welcome to the forum! I am no flower expert, but I have a few more that I can recommend. Michael Lafosse has published 3 flower designs that I know of-his Cattleya Orchid in Advanced Origami and his Munich Orchid and Modular Flower in Origami Art. Especially his Cattleya Orchid is very elegant and beautiful. The traditional Lily from a frog base is also nice, even though it is so common.

This one is kind of obscure, but Martin Wall's rose from Harbin's Origami 4 has a stem and three leaves color changed also:

Wow! Penselen, those flowers look beautiful! Is Harbin's Origami 4 still in print?

The Muira-ken beauty rose by Robert Lang :) Definately one of my favorites. And of course Lafosse has excellent flowers as well. And who could forget the classic kawasaki rose?

Blossoming flower

Post by Piotzintli »

I like a lot this one named 'Blossoming flower' of the Origami Austria site, wich I learned to fold for a special day.

impressive flowers? hey, that's totally all I do (except they may be too impressive--as in take several days to fold)

learn brian chan's rose. it's not that hard if you can do the kawasaki and lang roses easily, and it makes people go WHOA

Lang's rose for sure looks more realistic than other origami flowers that even though are nice, are not that much realistic. Here's one folded by a friend of mine:

I've got an orchid that I've diagrammed, and it takes a lot of sculptural ability to pull off:

I'm afraid you're out of luck there. Its a pretty rare book by all accounts, so you'll have to do a fair amount of googling if you want to find a copy.

Luckily I got mine in a charity shop over 20 years ago for something like 10 pence :D

What did I say about shameless self-promotion?
