A spectacular failure

This was meant to be one part of a complex "Slip and Stick" design.

This is one of my largest failures ever - folded from a 7 foot sheet of paper. The design didn't work and the paper and I needed to use a much stronger material for this part of the design.

However, I think it makes a rather unique abstract design. Can you guess what I am trying to build?

Coming Soon - a successful version.

I recently folded a sea-horse from 24" sheet. It looks amazing! Also last week, i folded a decagon with 12 units and previously a octahedron cube.

Looking good, gachepapier! Very nicely shaped.

I haven't posted anything in the forum for quite some time now, but I've been checking back every now and then to see what's new in this thread. I'm happy to see so many new people posting their stuff. It's great.

Here's my recent fold:

Model: Russian Tortoise
Designer: Geoff Mayhew
Folded from 25cm Japanese Kami

Designed to look like my own Russian Tortoise, Boris! There's a plastron that locks the model shut underneath too, but I wasn't able to take a good picture of it with a wounded camera...

Being without a camera, I'm restricted to webcam for a while. I apologize for the bad picture quality.

Geoff, I LOVE the look of the tortoise!

Zoraz, nice work with the crab! My try a year ago ended up as a piece of crumpled paper...
